A loop of Nathan Love’s newest 2020 work with some classics.
Gavin Strange is a director and designer at our brilliant sister studio Aardman Animations and by night he is the passion project pursuer behind JamFactory. One of those passions – making incredible music!
Talking behind the scenes, Gav said, “I cut all reels to just a simple metronome too start off with, as it helps me make sure the pacing and energy is right before getting the proper music in there.
The music itself is made on a tiny little portable synthesizer of dreams – the Teenage Engineering OP-Z. It’s a stand-alone sequencer and synth, and it’s such a joy to create with and is perfect for creating infinite loops. I wanted the beat to reflect the energy and awesomeness of the Nathan Love work, so I made sure that we have a big meaty kick drum driving the loop forwards. The metronome-esque sounds keeping time are actually audio samples from some of the Nathan Love work itself!”
